After 20 years of coaching professional actors, Joe Anthony is proud to launch professional youth acting classes for 9 to 17 year olds. The JAS philosophy of fostering ‘empathy, curiosity and imagination’ will now be available to young artists, keen to develop as people and actors. As Joe states: “in a city and industry that promotes ego and celebrity, I believe it is vital to promote empathy, connection and community. As young people become more isolated through technology and social media, I want to create a space in which they can play, grow and get serious about developing their acting skills.
At JAS we are serious about play!”
Acting is an ideal activity to develop children’s empathy, confidence and connection with others and the world around them. Weekly classes for 9-17 year olds build a strong acting foundation [improv; scene study; on-camera and commercial acting] and grow their industry knowledge in monthly workshops led by leading LA industry talent agents and casting directors.
Our classes are small so that we can get to know our young artists in a caring, supportive and creative environment. Through our trusted partners we will help your child with their headshots, resumes, demo reels and audition materials for professional work and college entry. All material will be age appropriate.
Every fourth session will be led by a leading Los Angeles theatrical agent and former Head of Casting at Disney. College audition preparation is available with the former head of undergraduate Acting at USC and the former acting coach of Kit Harrington [Game of Thrones].
BRIDGES TO INDUSTRY
The fourth session of each month will be lead by a leading LA industry professional. Talent Agents, Casting Directors, Headshot Photographers, Directors and former child Actors will be invited to share their insights and experience with our community of young artists.
These workshops are for educational purposes only, and do not imply possible casting or representation by industry professionals.
